Hey guys! Happy Saturday. I am full-on looking for a job and so I have been taking advantage of any and every other opportunity to speak and get warmed up for those interviews. This week was crazy for that kind of thing with extra meetings, two interviews, and a story slam!
Also, I was very proud of one video I had taken myself with my phone. I took the video right before I was going to be speaking, just outside the venue at The Beckendorf Conference Center. Too bad I could not get it to load, I really wanted to share it with you. It’s a little longer than 5 1/2 minutes. I’m going to continue working on it. In the meantime, you can enjoy a few more pictures.
This is the first annual story slam at Lone Star College. THE Tomball Toastmasters put it on and I said I’d like to talk. Besides, my friend was the organizer. The video I was trying to load was taken right outside the venue, just minutes away from being on the stage. There were many takes, but this is one was the best, and I did not use any notes. The practice take was longer than my original, which was recorded professionally. So exciting! Practice, practice, practice.
Anyway, I had the Moth’s theme for July in my head when I came up w the title and then I talked about the age thing a little more, for that reason. (Google The Moth_Houston in July). My talk was about some life-changing events that fuel my passions. I am fulfilled no matter what. And will continue to try and find people I can connect with no matter what. Enjoy. Sg.
